

Sauk River overnight river trip with LIVE music - Saturday and Sunday August 6 and 7, 2011
Here's your chance to get away and sleep out under the stars! Well meet you near Darrington, WA Saturday afternoon, load your sleeping gear into the boats and float a leisurely, class II scenic section of the Lower Sauk River. A little over an hour into the float well pull over and camp out overnight on a beautiful and scenic sand bar in the middle of the river, with a fantastic view of Whitehorse Mountain (2007 trip pictures). Explore the beach, socialize kick back and dangle your toes in the water, play Frisbee or just relax! At night youll experience dinner and a show featuring quality local Northwest musicians. Sunday morning youll be treated to a warm and robust breakfast before we do a short float out to your car around noon. Easy, relaxing and big fun.
A full outfitters kitchen is provided at camp to craft the dinner and breakfast cuisine. Before you ask, the answer is yes, we have toilet facilities, and no, this isnt a loudly amplified rock show. There is some amplification, but its more of a wilderness acoustic gig with some wonderful local singers and songwriters. This years featured performers are Casey Garland and Elaine Skeffington.
Cost: This one-day overnight trip includes Saturdays class II float, live music party and camp out with food for just $95. per person (plus WA state sales tax).
You will need to provide your own tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and alcoholic beverage should you care to bring it (for evening enjoyment only). We provide waterproof bags for your gear. Wetsuits are not required for this mild float trip.

Note: In past years this has been a two day program that included a whitewater run on the class III / IV middle section of the river. This option is still available for those wishing to raft whitewater in the morning and continue down river for the overnight campout and musical performance. Meeting time in Darrington for this whitewater run is 8:30am and the cost is an additional $65.
