As summer settles in and the snow pack vanishes, the glacial melt of the Suiattle flows on. Fed by the glaciers on the north and east side of Glacial Peak, the Suiattle is an excellent choice for late season whitewater. Raft down this pristine river lined with cedar and fern on milky waters caused by glacial ice grinding rock into a fine powder known as glacial flour. As it winds its way through the braided gravel channels, meager signs of hillside logging are your only clue that civilization exists on the Suiattle. It truly provides you with one of the best wilderness experiences in Western Washington. This young rivers' clay and silt banks are forever changing as the powerful force of the water erodes them away and provides a new challenge every year.

So you've had a great time rafting for a day with us before...

Maybe you've rafted all the "standard" rivers in the area...

You've wanted to get in a camping/backpacking trip this summer but don't have the time to train, will or energy to organize...

Here's your chance to try something that not many commercial rafters get to experience in Washington. Not only do you get to experience rafting a new and exciting Class III river, but also camping in a whole new pampered way.

Casey and a handful of guides are fresh back from scouting the seldom rafted but close to Seattle, Upper Suiattle River. Until recently this section of the river was choked off by a 100m log jam. The river is now mostly clear, leaving the exciting whitewater, spectacular views and some wonderful pristine sandy beaches in it's wake. Here is your chance to see a river that few have rafted in the last decade. Now is your chance to take a trip down one of the few commercial rivers in Washington where you can take a multi-day trip and see new whitewater both days on the same river. The Suiattle River is challenging enough to excite veteran rafters, while still being a good river to be your "first river trip".

Come with Downstream for an overnight rafting adventure that you will NEVER forget. An overnight trip down the Suiattle River gives you two whitewater, splash filled days of rafting and one fun filled night on a sandy beach. This trip is fully catered by Downstream's professional staff for a breakfast, dinner and lunches on the river! Not only can you be sitting on the beach to watch the sunrise and sunset, but you can be sitting around the fire experiencing live music and entertainment in the middle of nowhere. No cell phones, no computer monitors, no diesel exhaust, no honking horns, only the people that floated down with you, the wildlife and the gentle noise of the river to lull you to sleep at night.

You know how it goes...Good Friends...Good Drink (at the Beach Camp)...Good Song...Good TIMES! Don't miss out! The scheduled trip is filling now (see date at top), but we schedule alternate dates for larger groups in July and August. Book your trip now...

(please note, that due to the nature of the Pacific Northwest weather, Downstream can not guarantee the actual sight of the sun rise or sunset, but for a slight fee, we can guarantee a full moon.)
